The American Miniature Horse is a unique breed - an elegant, little scaled-down version of the large size horse.  It cannot be taller than 34" for AMHA and 38" for AMHR registries when measured at the last hairs of the mane.  Today's stylish and perfectly proportioned miniatures are the product of nearly 400 years of selective breeding.  Minis have the same gestation period as full-sized horses - 11 months or 345 days.
